Some parts of zones 9 and 10 get plenty of natural rainfall. Others… not so much.
If you have fruit trees, you know they have a high demand for water. So what can you do?
Capturing rainfall is a great strategy, and you may also be able to use the terrain to your advantage. If you can plant trees at the bottom of a hill, they’ll be on the receiving end of all of that water.
You can also look into adding swales if you have a larger slope than this one here.
